Asare is an all women organization working for the well being of women and children, particularly the girl children as the focus. Asare have reached 20,000 women and 8,000
children as direct and indirect beneficiaries by various activities in 100 villages since 1992. At present Asare is working in 60 villages in Kanakapura Taluk of Ramanagara district, Karnataka - India.

Asare have promoted women forums including self help groups for the socio-economic & political empowerment of the rural women from the marginal sections. Regular orientation, awareness generation and leadership promotion sessions for women, Federation of SHGs to support self management of the savings & credit activity, Hombale Rural Women Credit Cooperative Ltd., and various income generation and skill upgradation training programs are some of the main activities of the organization.

Women empowerment (Mahila Shakti) forum is also promoted to work for gender equality, social justice and human rights in general. Different Struggles conducted for proper public services and civil supplies, issues regarding dowry harassment, gender justice, equal participation in local governance process of women and protection of rural livelihood base.

Asare have formed children clubs in the government schools to protect and promote child rights, to eradicate child labor and girl child marriage, to reduce the drop out incidents.
